Gerry Lord has just come up with the earliest photograph (so far) of Company personnel that we have been given, from 1953.
It features members of the Works Cost Offfice on a day trip to London, where they visited amongst other places the old Festival of Britain site, which was in 1951, but still retained some of the exhibits, including Battersea Fun Fair.
The suspects are, standing……Tommy Tomlinson, Cliff Cannell, Joy Howard, Alice Starmer, 16 year old (!!) Gerry Lord, ??????? Roberts……in front, Ralph Simpson & Ian Stewart (not later BHH).
The identity of the hairy person standing in the middle is unknown, and Gerry strenuously denies that it was his girlfriend of the time !!
