A CERTAIN MEMBER OF OUR READERSHIP TOOK US TO TASK WHEN WE MADE THE STATEMENT THAT NORTHAMPTON WAS THE CENTRE OF THE BH EMPIRE, IN AS MUCH AS HE CONSIDERED BERKELEY SQUARE TO BE THE HUB, AND THAT MORE PEOPLE PASSED THROUGH THERE THAN THEY DID AT NORTHAMPTON. (NB: WE WERE ADVISED THAT MANY YEARS AGO A CERTAIN PARTY HAD PASSED THROUGH THE PORTALS OF 25 FOR A JOB INTERVIEW, AND DIDNT GET IT……..AND SOME SAY THAT IS WHY ONE DAY WHY BH WAS TAKEN OVER WITH SUCH ACRIMONY, AS THAT CERTAIN PARTY HAD NOT FORGOTTEN !!)

ANYWAY, MUCH AS WE LOVE 25, WE STILL THINK NORTHAMPTON WAS THE HUB, SO TED, YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO CONVINCE US OTHERWISE, OR WE WILL STILL CONTINUE TO SPOUT IT.

The well known view from across the Square, seen so many times on BH publications, from a 1955 brochure ……….25_new_in_1955

….followed by the introduction inside……1955_1

….. a later brochure from the 1970`s provided this line-up of substantial company ambassadors…..London_office

…. and lastly for now, the highlight of the December 1978 BH Newsletter, the Berkeley Square production of Aladin & The Magic Lamp, with everybody who mattered getting a part, whether he wanted one or not…..like to know who wrote it, as he was either very brave, or must have had a private income !! (Our money`s on Jailler !!)  So take your seats, buy your ice cream, sit back, and enjoy !!

Hello. I have the original painting of 25 Berkeley depicted in your brochure image above. I found it in an estate sale. If you would like clear photos of the piece, I can send them to you at no change. If you might know of anyone interested in buying the painting, we will be putting it up for auction soon.
    Best regards,

    Very interesting message Mr Loranger.
Is the painting an oil or watercolour..I
never saw it at the time, so have no real knowledge of it. There were several
copies painted for different countries/regions of Blackwood Hodge I do know, so
it would be almost impossible to find out where your`s origin was
I am assuming it is quite large also, do
you have the overall dimensions please.
Lastly, although it would be awkward to have
it shipped, how much would you want for it, say delivered to an address in Toronto please, which I
think is about 50 miles from you.
    Best regards, The Editors.
