COMMONWEALTH OFFICES

WE HAVE RECEIVED FROM OUR OVERSEAS BRETHREN A FEW OFFICE & DEPOT IMAGES FROM CANADA & AUSTRALIA.

From Oz, from Rod Henderson, is a series of 1960 photos of their early facilities, mostly looking like they are in the middle of nowhere.

Of course, we weren`t thinking, Oz is the middle of nowhere !!   PORT MELVILLE, WESTERN AUSTRALIA, 1956………AND AGAIN BELOW.

REDCLIFFE, QUEENSLAND, 1962, ABOVE.

PORT HEDLAND, WESTERN AUSTRALIA, 1968, ABOVE & BELOW, AND BELOW THAT.

Then from Canada, from a now long deceased ex-employee who also worked for Tom Stevenson, of Hub Equipment, come some striking images of the then new Toronto office, in Ontaria.

Firstly is the in-house photo from the 1956 Directors Report, then the Canadian ones. Tom tells us the office was demolished about 10 years ago, but whoever took the original images got it very right.      

 Always wanted a dumptruck in our office, but we have to settle for models !!
