ALLISON……BEST EVER ??

SUDDENLY OCCURED TO US T`OTHER DAY THAT THERE WAS NO EUCLID SECTION ON THE SITE… ….TEREX IS THERE, BUT AS B.H. SPENT SOME 27 YEARS FLOGGING EUCS, AND HAVING ITEMS IN HAND WHICH ARE PARTICULARLY EUCLID, WE THOUGHT IT ABOUT TIME IT HAD ITS OWN SECTION.

So what could be more inapropriate than starting off the section with something other than Euclid, that is Allison.

Not being engineers, it is only our experience that taught us in the past, that matched correctly to the right engine, Allison was hard to beat, and certainly earned us some money.

Anyway, it is Herr Gevers from Holland who has again come up with more goodies, this time an Allison brochure, and the reason we are in this new section, because the brochure highlights Euclid machines alongside its transmissions………..

ALLISON 1 ALLISON 2 ALLISON 3  ALLISON 4 ….and lastly the Cummins powered R-45, like the first one mentioned by Ken Lansley & Ken Kirkpatrick around 1963, when it first came to UK, prior to being built in Newhouse.

    Old Rear Dumpers Never Die Ha
    My mate Peter Morris just dragged one out of a paddock here in Australia and got it going and now has it on light duties but still being used again. Spec plate claims B5FD no B118 build Oct 1951.It currently runs a GM 671 apparently a popular conversion as plenty were available on the surplus market after the war. 5 years older than the one in the 1978 article from Iraq and another 33 years on. Got plenty of pics if you tell me how / where to send them .

    The crawlers shown in pictures 1,2 and 4, pulling/pushing the Euclid Blade-Veyor, are Allis Chalmers HD20’s. The HD20 was built from 1951 to 1954, and was powered by the relatively rare, and short-lived GM 6-110 series engine.
    The predecessor of the HD20 was the HD19, powered by a GM 6-71, and the successor to the HD20 was the HD21, powered initially by the Buda 844, and later, the A-C 21000 series direct injection engine, which was the Buda engine substantially re-engineered.
