ALTHOUGH WE DONT THINK IT LASTED MANY MORE YEARS, IN 1982, B.H. FRANCE MADE MINOR HISTORY WHEN IT SOLD A FLEET OF "LOADRUNNERS" DIRECT FROM THE USA TO A CONTRACTOR WHO WAS INVOLVED IN CONSTRUCTING A RATHER LARGE NUCLEAR POWER STAION NEAR TO DIEPPE.
Part of a consortium, Ballot was the customer, and apart from several 33-07`s & 33-09`s, they also bought 4 TS-24B Loadrunners, as they were known in the USA. Vastly different from the then current UK built B10LOT MKV model, there was only 3 units of that marque built in Newhouse (Terex readers ??), other than a few single engine models, S-24B`s, that were sold secondhand to New Zealand about 5 years ago. Anyway, here is the article, read for yourselves……
NOW WE HAVE A SERIES OF ARTICLES AND IMAGES RELATING TO SEVERAL OVERSEAS COUNTRIES, AMONGST THEM ARE SPAIN, ZAMBIA, AND NIGERIA.
From 1982, some overseas promotions, including a face that would have been recognised quite easily around the bars & nightclubs (sometimes even the depot) in Barnsley (Club Baba ? Ed.), in the early 1970`s, although the glasses were gold-rimmed in those days…..
Now some distinguished faces from Spain, unknown to us except for Senor Martin, who we remember as an excitable chap !!
Now we switch to Africa, firstly a name well known to us, Mike Pigou, with news from Zambia…
….then these from 1985, Uncle Ted & Geoff on a bit of a break….
….and finally for Zambia, big hits.
Nigeria 1985, M F-A in charge….a "new look"….big article this, we had to split it…..
….and one last one….doesn`t this bloke play for Arsenal now ??
