AS PUBLISHED LAST YEAR, IN JUNE 1978, J.B.H. HAD AN OPEN DAY AT NORTHAMPTON DEPOT, AND THE SITE WAS THROWN OPEN TO CUSTOMERS AND MEMBERS OF PUBLIC TO VISIT AND SEE WHAT ONE OF THE BIGGEST EMPLOYERS IN THE AREA DID FOR A LIVING, WITH AN EXAMPLE OF PRACTICALLY EVERYTHING ON THE SALES LIST AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION, PLUS TOURS OF THE WORKSHOPS, AND QUESTIONS FROM INQUISITIVE INDIVIDUALS BEING ANSWERED BY "ATTENTIVE" MEMBERS OF STAFF.
We have in fact made contact with a member of the public who was there, who says he has a number of photos taken on the day, and we are trying to persuade him to let us borrow them to see what views he captured, but in the meantime, a couple of family shots, with a wellknown grandmother, Mrs Nesta Johnson in fact, wife of Jack, and three of her grandchildren, posing nicely around the bowl of the (then being) fully overhauled Terex R-65 which when completed was soon on its way to Leatherbarrows of Liverpool, with its two companions.
To remind you, the cars in the bowl touch was a take on the 33-19 Titan display in Chicago in the early 70`s, where they had five limo`s in the bowl when it was hoisted up.
