HOPEFULLY NOBODY READING THIS IS TOO OLD OR TOO YOUNG EVEN TO REMEMBER THE BAY CITY ROLLERS……IT IS JUST THAT THE STATE OF THESE CHAPS, STYLISH FOR THE DAY MIND YOU, WITH ONE OR TWO EXCEPTIONS OF COURSE, DOES MAKE US SMILE A TAD.

The original image comes from Eddie Hopes, who sent us the photo of the photo as it were. Poor old Pete Thurlow & Ken George must have had their hands full that day, which according to Steve Conway, (No.15) was almost certainly at Acton O.C.C.S., one of Miller`s sites near to Leeds. They were carted off afterwards apparently and had lunch at the revamped Barnsley depot…wonder if they had some of Beryl`s barm cakes ?

Mick Stevens and Martyn Brawn, although not present, along with Steve, have named quite a few so far, but we are still missing some, so if anybody can fill in the blanks, feel free to advise…..

The identification numbers follow this version, and a better image (sans numbers) follows them. So here we go Shang-a-Lang, lets Remember the Summer Love Sensation !! Allright, allright, here`s the photo…….dont forget to double click on it to enlarge.Mm numbers

….and the list is….more late additions from Martyn Brawn, what is he doing at this time of night, we will have to get him some pills………anyway he says that No.8 is IAN Jackson, and No.10 is Kevin Nicholls…..only four to go, chaps, 2, 18, 21 & 32, and confirmation on 12 & 31 !!

MILLER MINING list

…and the clearer version of the photo….slightly anyway.

Number 10 cannot be Kev nicholls as he hadn’t started BH at that time. I think that the person in question is Chris O’neil who i believe started as an apprentice welder at the same time as Dave Ridolfo, in 1977, the same year as Ian and i started as apprentice fitters. Ian is correct Dave Ridolfo and Mark Pricket should be there.

Number 32 is Ian Rogers who was an apprentice electrician as stated.

I think No. 12 is Ian Riches not Steve York as stated.

No. 18 is Rupert Atkins, who tragically died in a motorcycle accident and number 10 i believe looks like Stuart Brown.
Ian Jackson is the other person
I was not in this picture, so Kevin Nichols was not also. We started in 1979
