We have had various people helping out on this list, the last one being Mark Underwood, who supplied a couple more names, and a sad tailpiece to one of them.

One of the boys he recognised as Rupert Atkins, No.18, who Mark says was a good fitter, and apparently Rupert left the Hodge and set off for a world tour on his motorbike, but was unfortunately killed in Australia in a road accident. A sad footnote, but at least he was doing something that he had dreamed about.

A updated list is shown below, so check that out against the earlier photo, and we now have only two un-named people, No 21 & 32, and need final confirmation on two more, No 12 & 31, so come on chaps, rack the memory banks and lets finish it off.MILLER MINING list

    i knew a Rupert Atkins from my childhood and i did hear a rumour about his very sad ending , can anyone enlighten me on details Rupe lived in Collingtree village in the school house
