AMONGST THE VERY, VERY MANY THINGS THAT EDDIE HOPES HAS DUG OUT FOR US TO PUBLISH, HE GAVE US SOMETHING THE OTHER NIGHT THAT WE HAD CERTAINLY NOT SEEN BEFORE, WHETHER ANY OF YOU HAD, WE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW.

During the very dark days of June 1990, the final notices of redundancy had been issued to most  employees, and the talk had been for many months about closing the Depot, and moving all & sundry (who remained !!) to Barnsley.

Whether the purpose of the following document was to raise funds for the ship being allowed to sink by the then current leadership, or whether it was at the suggestion of the soon-to-be-masters, the Swede Bashers, we will never know, but on June 21st 1990, in the pages of that very well known publication, the "Chartered Surveyors Weekly", (sounds like something from Have I Got News For You !!) appeared this extremely sad advertisement, which needs no explanation, just a pity it wasn`t taken up by some farseeing muckshifting outfit, (let me see, who springs to mind…..not not them…… no balls !!) instead of becoming yet another part of Northampton`s overspill !!
