ANOTHER VISITOR TO THE REUNION LAST YEAR WAS COLIN WARDLE, 1947-1957, TIME SPENT MOSTLY ABROAD, AND HE GAVE US A MARVELLOUS IMAGE OF ONE OF THE OUTPOSTS OF THE B.H. EMPIRE THAT HE SERVED IN, CALCUTTA.
You will see the title of the photograph, which by the way, was so large, we had to scan it in two pieces to keep the clarity, and get it on the page, and the title, BISWAKARMA ( or VISHWAKARMA) PUJA, means a day to celebrate LORD VISHWAKARMA, the Hindu God of architecture & engineering. The good Lord was the divine architect, designer, craftsman & creator of mythological constructions, so obviously, he was closely associated with muck shifting !!
Anyway, we thank Colin for this image, aplogise for not publishing sooner, and it is certainly very different to most contributions that we receive. By the way, spot who is the carnation wearer in the seated row before you look at the names key………
Not too many names to recognise, but a few….Colin Wardle amongst them.
