THOSE WITH LONG MEMORIES WILL RECALL THE "LETTER FROM SCOTLAND" THAT APPEARED FROM TIME TO TIME, NOT THE LEAST OUR READERS FROM NORTH OF THE BORDER WHO WERE GAINFULLY EMPLOYED BY THE TEREX ORGANISATION, THE PRODUCERS OF THE MAGAZINE.

Along with many other items, the 1973 edition has appeared from the collection of Martin Ede, the subject of this particular periodical being the Sales Seminar of 1973, to which many Hodgites were invited.

Many articles, & many images of both still present and long gone colleagues, so indulge yourselves on yet more memories from over 37 years ago……..most people are ackowledged under the photos that they appear in, but where Hodgites appear with no reference, we have made a note…….two of the best reasons for being there, apart from the food & drink, was the first appearance in the UK of the new 33-07 reardump, and the new 72-71A loading shovel…..but it still took another 3 years before the 33-07 production came to Newhouse, the few that were sold in UK before then being imported from USA. The 72-71 UK production did start a little earlier in 1975, but it must have been hard for the salesmen to wait that long, especially for such a modern (then) truck !!LFS 1973

….and seen off to the football, Les Brind in the coach door, Ken Lansley in front of him, The Cheet complete with pipe, Pip Johnson just behind him, and Blackie on the far right.

We wonder who had the bragging rights on the way back from the match !!
