THIS ITEM IS A MULTI COOPERATION AFFAIR, WITH IMAGES SUPPLIED BY JOHN TYRRELL & EDDIE HOPES, AND NAMES SUPPLIED BY MICK STEVENS.
They cover one of the soapbox days held at Blakesley, west of Towcester, Northants, and for those outings, the JBH apprentices were asked to build a couple of vehicles from this and that, and on this day, year unknown, but probably around 1979/80, a pair were constructed and entered in the race.
No knowledge remains as to whether there was any success that day, just these 4 shots of the vehicles and some of the JBH people attending.
First a general view of a part of the course…..
….with next a shot of the JBH car on the starting ramp, with Andy Baines as pilot….
….followed by a "service halt" overseen by John Maddison, Ian "Beaker" Harrison, and Mrs Liz Hopes we think…..
…and lastly a view of the "pit area", with the other car built for the day in John Deere colours, along with the Terex machine, and standing around keeping an eye on the situation are Mick Stevens, Andy Brightman, and driver Phil Tobbutt.
Anybody know the results ???
