ONE OF THE 1964 INTAKE OF APPRENTICES HAS MADE CONTACT FROM THAT OUTPOST OF FINE BEACHES AND FINER CRICKETERS (SOMETIMES).
After working at JBH Northampton from 1964 to 1969, Robbie Williams (no, of course not that one !!) emigrated to Australia, where he is still today, and he sent us a photo, he thinks from December 1968, and mentions the other two latchekos in the shot with him as Ian Harkins & Dick Tebbutt, also serving their apprenticeships at that time.
We have Ian far left, then his partner, a very young Tebbutt and his partner, and across the table are Robbie`s partner, and Robbie himself.
Dick has been in South Africa for years, but we are very pleased to say that both he and Robbie will be with us on June 11th, flights permitting, so any other apprentices from that period, like Les Massey & Chris Ingram et al, will be able to seriously move some muck that afternoon !!
Does anybody know where Ian Harkins is now ??
