THANKS AGAIN TO THE ORGANISATIONAL SKILLS OF "THE OVERSTONE THREE", MESSRS ALAN MATCHETT, TONY FRESHWATER AND MARTIN EDE, ON OCTOBER 14TH LAST, IN GLORIOUSLY SUNNY WEATHER, THE 2ND ANNUAL B.H. GOLF DAY TOOK PLACE, ONCE MORE AT OVERSTONE GOLF CLUB, JUST OUTSIDE NORTHAMPTON.
This year, the competition was opened up to the "under 70`s"……..well, not really, but due to the 20 year gap from the demise of B.H. alone, we dont have too many spring chickens attending !!
This year however one change was that ladies were invited, the criteria being that they had either worked for The Company, or were closely related to someone who did.
This initially brought us three ladies, Pauline Lord, and Lynn & Rachel Freshwater, although Pauline had to cry off 2 days before due to an injury, caused by playing golf !!
Initially, we had doubled the number of players from last year, but due to Pauline not being able to attend, and Graham Lampshire being called to a family illness outside the area, the opening roster numbered 15, still well up on the inaugural competition in 2010.
The field gathered on the 1st tee, prior to the competition starting….

We have now a series of "preparation & action shots", taken mostly on the first tee, and we will do our best to name the individuals, but we are sure you will recognise them if we haven`t !!

The photographer being too tired to take any more images around the course, we cut to the clubhouse, where the presentations are taking place, announced by Alan, and presented by our non-playing guest for the day, Uncle Ted Farmer, last director of BH Technical Services.

So we came to the end of the 2nd BH Golf Day, a day enjoyed by all, except of course that the "Boys" were thrashed soundly by the "Girl" in the 2 minor competitions, something no doubt that the "Boys" will be striving hard to put right next time !!
And there will be a next time, same venue, similar time of year, we already have 2 more ladies who wish to play, and we know that there are still more Hodgites out there who still spoil a good walk occasionally, so dont be shy next year, clean up your balls, pull your clubs up out of the runner bean frame, and get some practice in for next October.
