IT HAS BEEN A WHILE SINCE WE RE-PUBLISHED ANY OF THE BLACKWOOD HODGE NEWSLETTERS, AND WE HAVE BEEN PROMPTED INTO THE FOLLOWING PUBLICATION DUE TO MARTIN EDE ENCOURAGING US TO REPRODUCE JOE MILLER`S PANTOMIME PRODUCTIONS OF THE 1970`S.

We were going to publish the rest of each magazine before Christmas at the same time as the pantos, but it didn`t quite work out, so slightly out of context, you will see a few references to Christmas`s past whilst perusing the following.

We have all sorts of contributors, most of them the usual suspects, but one or two who didnt appear often, like Martin Wright, and R.D. Gould with a Letter from Canada. You may notice that some stuff has appeared before in various sections, but we make no apologies for that.

Your Editor in those days of course was Blackie Blackford.

So it is December 1976, Bill Shapland still chairman, and all is reasonable with the world of B.H.

An unusal contribution now, one of the many caricatures created by a London Office employee of both BH & Euclid personnel. We have seen most of them before, but not as published in BH News.

Dennis`s usual contribution.

Now for something completely different……without using the previous magazine, and stealing a little from the famous Two Ronnies sketch, answering the questions with the previous answer, see how many correct questions you can get, referring to the November answers published below.

The winner will not be without reward, receiving a very nice model Euclid R-15 in period livery, stuffed & mounted, as per the BH Golf Day prizes, but lets have no cheating please !!

The person with the most correct "questions" will receive the prize.76 14

Well thats the end of 1976, so we go straight into December 1977…..

Now from that playboy of the Eastern World, well East Anglia anyway, A.H.Vernon-Smith relates the delights of drinking in that region, a task no doubt set for him by R.A.Stallard, or probably John Cheetham !!

A contribution now from north of the border, Jackie Greenan fills us in on the history, facts & figures etc pertaining to Cumbernauld Depot, who in case anybody passing has now noticed, the "outline" of the "Blackwood Hodge" sign on the A80 side of the office building has only just been removed in the last 2/3 years.

Now that photo again, and to the best of our knowledge, we only have that still very active left-handed Welsh golfer and former BH Company Secretary, Idris Jenkins, and of course His Royal Highness still with us, unless anyone knows better !!

A good friend still today Dan Willis, former GM/Terex executive type, updated us then on the competition.

Well, thats all for now from BH NEWS from the 1970`s, many thanks to Martin Ede for the loan of these 3 December`s of nostalgia that we have been able to put before you.

Hopefully we will get back to producing the remaining editions a little more rapidly in the future. Ed.
