BACK IN 2013, WE FIRST HEARD FROM DAN MARTIN, WHO HAD WORKED FOR THE HODGE DOWNUNDER FOR A NUMBER OF YEARS, AND SUPPLIED US WITH MANY PHOTOS AND STORIES OF HIS TIME WITH THE COMPANY, SEE B.H. OVERSEAS, FEBRURY 2013.

WELL WE HAVE DAN ON AGAIN RECENTLY, NOT SO MUCH TALKING ABOUT HIS EXPERIENCES, BUT THOSE OF A GOOD FRIEND OF HIS WHO SPENT ABOUT 18 YEARS WITH B.H. AUSTRALIA, AND WHO HAS ONLY JUST RECENTLY RETIRED FROM FULL TIME WORK AT THE AGE OF 75 !!

The man is Jim Chainey, and Dan relates his knowledge of Jim`s working life in the following letter and images. Firstly, Dan`s letter……Jim chainey
First a shot of Jim & Dan in 1980…….DAN & JIM
…..interesting cars in the background, centre one looks like an Opel Ascona or Vauxhall Cavalier, or the Holden equivalent.

At a Gold Coast Engineers Field Day visit , on the B.H.stand, we also have another of our past correspondents, Graham Winwood…..BH SHOW
…..looks like Terex 33-03 trucks with either a 72-31B or a 72-51B.

Well, there we have Dan`s tribute to his good friend Jim, so to finish off we have a couple of shots of Dan in earlier days, and on his retirement in 2000.Timberjack
This was (in 1964) the first Timberjack sold in Australia.

DAN
Many thanks for your contributions Dan, and may you send us, along with your fellow BH countrymen, many more in the future.

The Editors.
