EARLIER IN THE YEAR, WE EXCHANGED A SERIES OF COMMUNICATIONS WITH A BRUCE HOY, OF ALBANY CREEK, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA.
NOW UNLIKE ALL THE OTHER ANTIPODEAN CONTACTS WE HAVE HAD SO FAR, THIS GENTLEMAN DID NOT WORK FOR B.H., ALTHOUGH HIS FATHER DID HAVE SOME CONTACT DURING HIS WORKING CAREER.
NO, BRUCE, AMONGST OTHER THINGS, IS AN OFFICIANADO ON DINKY TOYS, AND HAS A PENCHANT FOR No. 965, THE EUCLID REAR DUMPTRUCK, PRODUCED BY MECCANO FROM THE 1950`s, AND HAS SENT US A VERY INTERESTING SERIES OF LETTERS COVERING MANY ASPECTS OF THE MODEL, AND TOTALLY UNBEKNOWN TO US, A COUPLE OF CONNECTIONS TO THE COMPANY.
We have not reproduced our replies to Mr Hoy so as not to extend the article too much, so hopefully you will follow the thread that links the letters together.
Bruce has also included some model Euc images (and a Meccano spec sheet would you believe), as well as those of some full size truck fotos, again with some new information.
We have put this article into REMEMBER WHEN because most of us do remember having that model, and in certain cases (BH Golf Day trophys) still do !!
Bruce`s first letter to us, back in February…..
…..and the brilliant diagram referred to……just like the real thing…..
…..continuing…note the paint colour reference…..

….next letter….
….and the next….

….what about that for a line-up !! Only ever seen at Newhouse before.

The next message relates to the real "TEREX" R15`s out there, and after more detective work, Bruce came up with this snippet…..
….and an interesting question posed by Bruce in this last paragraph…….has anybody got one ??
This is all of Bruce`s contribution, and although his connection with B.H. is a bit distant, you have to admire his attention to detail, his detective abilities, and his obvious interest in BH, and we all know a little bit more than we did before.
Many thanks Bruce…..now turn to the JOHN BLACKWOOD HODGE section for a lot more info from Bruce regarding the ex Company Piaggio !!
